The vicar and his wife, Miss Venture, the school principal, and Mr Bolton, the bank manager, were all coming to tea, along with some other neighbours. Tables had been laid out under the oak tree in the garden. Farmer Hudson and his wife were busy. Henry had been told strictly to behave himself. Henry obediently took his catapult and went off to play near the pond. He was a very naughty boy who enjoyed throwing stones at anything he saw: frogs, crabs, fish, birds! The guests arrived and settled down comfortably. Tea was served, with sandwiches, cakes, cookies, an apple pie and scones. Everyone chatted happily. Farmer Hudson and his wife breathed a sigh of relief. Just then, a stone hit a bee-hive on the tree! The bees swarmed out and the guests began running helter-skelter! “Henry!” yelled Mrs Hudson. And Henry ran to hide his catapult!
