Long time ago, a small farmer called Elimelech and his wife Naomi lived in Bethlehem. They had two lovely boys, and were leading a peaceful life. Until one day, Elimelech couldn’t make enough money for his family due to famine. They decided to move to the neighbouring country of Moab, where they were sure of finding an opportunity to live. Years later, her sons and husband died. She had no one except for her daughters-in-law Ruth and Orpah. They both were good and loved her the most. Naomi decided to go back to her own country Bethlehem. On the way back, she asked Orpah and Ruth to return back to her parents. Not willingly Orpah agreed, but Ruth didn’t. She said, “Please let me be with you and do everything that will make you happy. Let only death part us, and nothing else.” Naomi was touched with these words, and she asked Ruth to be with her.
