There are five sub-species of vervet monkeys. The monkeys are known for their love of grooming one another for hours; this also increases bonding amongst the troop members. The monkey has four enemies: leopard, baboons, pythons and eagles. Like elephants, vervet monkey females are allomothers. They are vegetarian, but it isn’t uncommon for them to eat the eggs of birds.
