Once, a class of trolls went for a picnic on the beach. The teacher warned them, “Don’t go into the water.” Vian, a naught troll, was always curious. He moved away from the others and walked towards the water all alone. There, he saw a mermaid gazing at him. Vian asked the mermaid, “Will you take me into the sea? I want to see how it looks down there.” The mermaid said, “Close your eyes for a minute. Just say ‘Mermi’ when you need help.” Vian did so and when he opened his eyes, he was deep under water. He was terrified to see large sea creatures swimming past him. Vian was so shocked that he forgot the code word that the mermaid gave him. He cried loudly, closed his eyes and thought, ‘I wish I had obeyed my teacher.’ When he opened his eyes, Vian was back on the beach. The mermaid had saved him. She said, “Vian, never disobey your elders again!”
