Viprad sincerely followed Sage Mudgal’s instructions. He watered the twig daily and chanted Ganesha’s Mantra. He got deeply engrossed in the prayers and forgot about the time that passed. Viprad attained immense grace due to his prayers and the associated penance. By then, a large tree had grown out of the twig. Sage Mudgal happened to visit the place where Viprad was performing his penance. He was amazed to see the transformation. The sage woke Viprad up from his meditation. Viprad felt utterly blessed and touched Sage Mudgal’s feet in gratitude. Viprad was happy to see Mudgal again, as he was the one who guided him towards the transformation. Suddenly, a trumpet grew from the point of the origin of Viprad’s eyebrows. Sage Mudgal was delighted to see this and renamed Viprad as Sage Bhooshundy. The trumpet was a symbol that Ganesha had forgiven Viprad and blessed him.
