Sheikh Chilli’s in-laws invited him to come and meet Fawzia’s grandmother. So, Sheikh’s mother sent him to their house with a number of instructions for behaving well and not doing anything silly. Sheikh carried a pot of ghee as a gift for his in-laws. He reached the area without any difficulty, but as he entered the street, some stray dogs started barking. Smelling a stranger and they growled at him fiercely. Sheikh started shouting when the dogs started chasing him. In fright, he threw the pot of ghee at them. As the ghee spread on the street, the dogs halted for a bit. Hearing the commotion, many people of the village came to Sheikh’s rescue. The stray dogs ran away, leaving Sheikh unconscious from fear. Nobody could recognise him. When he finally woke up, he couldn’t remember anything: not his name or why he was there. On hearing about a foolish boy who had forgotten all about himself, Sheikh’s in-laws wondered if he was Sheikh, as all the signs pointed to him!
