Gladiators were a group of fighters in Ancient Rome. They were slaves who were made to fight one another during funeral ceremonies. Later on, fight between gladiators became a chief mode of amusement. Its popularity led to its use in ever more lavish and costly games. Schools of gladiators were established where people were trained to fight one another. The fight took place in front of royal families and the gladiators paraded wearing gold or silver armours. They fought with wooden weapons and the spectators used to get thrilled while viewing them.
