What is an IQ?

A person goes through various stages of physical and mental growth. All children have different physical stature and strength. They also have different levels of mental development. To measure an individual’s mental level of development, a series of tests have been made. These tests are called IQ (relative intelligence of a person) tests. ‘IQ’ is an abbreviation for Intelligence Quotient, a mathematical term to explain the result of these tests. IQ = ratio of mental age over chronological age multiplied by 100. An IQ over 100 is said to be an above average IQ.
