What is the Nobel Prize?

The Nobel Prize is one of the highest honours awarded to a person. It is a globally recognised award. One of the most interesting things is that this award is named after a person who worked on products related to destruction. Alfred Nobel invented and patented dynamite, detonators for explosives and gelatine. Nobel thought of doing something noble for the world. When he died, he left behind a fund of $90,00,000. This money was then used for awarding prizes to those who made outstanding contribution in the field of science (Chemistry, Physics, Medicine), Literature, Economics and mankind (peace).
