In the medieval age, witches and warlocks were quite numerous. There were many, but the best of them all were three witches: Rubo, Baggo and Zadi. One day, someone summoned a spell only the three witches could do: burn down all of England with green fire. The King of England, the only survivor, knew where all three lived and called them to come to a meeting. He asked, “Which of you summoned the calamity that destroyed all of England?”
Here are their alibis.
Rubo: I was off in China at the time, taking a well deserved break. Are you insinuating that I’m an evil witch?
Baggo: Why would I want to summon a calamity? I heal and tell the future, not summon fires!
Zadi: Er…Um…What calamity? Er…er…yeah…I was in Germany you see…
The King of England arrested one of them. WHO WAS IT AND WHY?
Solution
The King of England arrested Baggo because only she knew what happened. She confessed and said that it was quite an accident. Instead of predicting her future, she had said something wrong and destroyed England! She made up for it and restored England, then gave them all good fortune for the rest of their lives.
What about Zadi? Why was she stammering? When she was a beginner, her teacher had accidentally cursed her to stammer for the rest of her life. And Baggo offered to cure it for her!
So at the end, England prospered and witches and wizards were in good name until something else happened…
