The white-beaked dolphin loves cold and sub-polar waters. It grows 230-310 cm long and weighs 180-350 kg. They have short, creamy white beaks, dark grey bodies with white patches and curved, sickle-shaped dorsal fins. They dive to feed on crustaceans, cephalopods and small schooling fish. A single calf is born after a gestation period of 11-12 months. Lifespan is 25 years.
