Bigger animals generally live longer, with a few exceptions. The tiny animals are more likely going to fall prey to big predators. They tend to have babies early and age quickly. Big animals, on the other hand, have a long growth cycle and reproduction cycle because they do not have the fear of being eaten by other bigger animals. Also, tiny or small animals like bats or ants, may have longer life-spans, because they have the ability to save themselves from predators. Animals with long life-spans may also have hardier cells that are more resistant to stress.
