Why do clouds float?

Clouds consist of water droplets and ice crystals that evaporate from the earth’s water-bodies. These together are very heavy yet they float. Since their weight is spread out in a large area and with small individual particles, the effect of the earth’s gravitational pull is almost absent. Additionally, the clouds are able to float due to the earth’s rising warm air. However, they do not stay in the air forever. The rising warm air cools them down, condenses the water vapour and adds to the droplets of clouds. Eventually, the droplets become too heavy and result in rainfall.
