William Alison ‘Bill’ Anders was born on 17th October 1933 in British Hong Kong and he is now retired from fighter pilot, Major General, USAFR and settled in the US. A former Airforce officer, nuclear engineer and astronaut, William is one of the first people to have orbited the moon. He held various positions in Nuclear Regulatory and Developmental Activities that the US was involved in, including being invited by President Ford to be the first Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Later, he went as the US ambassador to Norway and held that position till 1977.
