A long, long time ago, there was a King who was very fond of music. Whether he was happy or sad, he used to listen to music. For a long time, he had been in search of the world’s best musical instrument. Many people offered him different musical instruments but he found all of them useless. Then one day, a Wizard came to the palace and offered him a beautiful harp. The King took the harp and started playing it, but it was out of tune. Then, other musicians tried it but it seemed to be useless.
The King was very angry. He took the harp and threw it out of the window. The next day, a poor little girl found the beautiful harp. She tried to play it but the harp was out of tune. She didn’t give up; she played and played for the whole day, but the harp was always out of tune.
Every day, the girl spent many hours playing the harp and improved a lot. Slowly, she started playing perfectly and the most melodious sounds could be heard everywhere. The Wizard came and told her that the harp was actually a magical harp and could be played by someone who put in efforts to play it. Then, the Wizard went away and the girl started playing the harp once again. This time the King heard the music while he was sitting in his room. He rushed to the window and saw a girl playing the beautiful harp which he had thrown out. He immediately called her inside the palace and requested to play it once again. The girl started playing and the King was filled with happiness. At that moment, he appointed the girl as his private musician and gave her lots of gold coins.
