There was a wise and kind emperor. He always thought about helping his subjects. He wanted to heal the wounds of people. He had a large number of servants and courtiers. But none of them could help him in the task he wanted to do. Finally, he selected an assistant who could help him. He took his assistant to the balcony of the palace. “See my big kingdom! You must help me heal the wounds of people,” the emperor said. His assistant asked, “Master, what must I remember if I am to carry out your wishes?” The emperor replied, “Look upon all the people as wounded.” The curious assistant asked, “But why, my Lord?” The emperor explained, “Everyone is in pain in some way. Wounds may not show, but they are there. Discover people who are hurt, and you will finally understand them. Help them.” The assistant understood what the wise emperor wanted.
