Wren

The Troglodytidae (scientific name) is a family of small birds known as the wren. This bird is distributed globally in varying habitats. Ranging from 4.0-5.5 inches in length, the wren has very drab-coloured plumage, ranging from grey to black, brown and white. It has a long straight, but slightly curved beak. There isn’t any sexual dimorphism in this species. Known as a brilliant song bird, the wren is famous for compiling complex songs, sometimes sung in pairs. Its diet consists of insects, arthropods, vegetable matter and even frogs and lizards. Average clutch-size varies from 4-7 eggs based on the species, and incubation period is 9-16 days. Its IUCN listing also varies from the LEAST CONCERN to NEAR THREATENED, based on the species.
