The wunderpus is an octopus with a unique pattern of white bars and spots over a reddish-brown mantle and long tentacles. It remains stationary, buried in sand with the eyes showing. It feeds on small fish, crabs and shrimps by grabbing them with its tentacles. Females spawn once and die after they have laid their eggs. Their lifespan is 2-3 years.
