The yellow tail amberjack is foundaround offshore islands, rocky reefs and kelp beds.
It grows up to 250 cm long and weighs 52 kg.It has a blue back, silvery white sides, a belly, a narrow bronze strip along the middle, yellowish fins and a tail. It feeds on squid, crabs, smelts, mackerels, anchovies and sardines. Its lifespan is 30 years.
