Once, a boy was playing in a park. He found a pot lying on a bench. When he went closer, he saw that the pot was filled with peanuts, but it had a narrow neck. Seeing the peanuts, the boy’s mouth started watering. He put his hand into the pot and held as many peanuts as his hand could grasp. When he tried to pull his hand out, he could not do so. He felt very disappointed and started crying. The more he wanted to pull it out, the more pain did he feel. A man was looking at the boy from a distance. He came to the boy and said, “Do not be greedy. Be satisfied with half the nuts at one time. You will be able to get your hand out. You can have more in the second attempt.” The boy did as the man said, and was happy to get the nuts. He thanked the man and left.
