Nohkalikai Fall

Nohkalikai-Fall

The Nohkalikai Fall is the tallest plunge waterfall near Cherrapunji, in India. These incredible falls get their name from a local legend. Literally meaning ‘Jump of Ka Likai’, the falls were named after a lady by the name of ‘Likai’ who had jumped off a cliff near the falls. The falls themselves are 1115 feet in height and rush with tremendous force to a plunge pool that is of an unusual green colour. Situated near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on the planet, the falls are fed by collected rainwater, which reduces the power of the falls during the drier season.
